Diedenhofen started to market his own invention, the ‘dry expectorate’, a liquorice preparation containing menthol, in 1924, under the brand name ‘Rheila’. Today, the company’s portfolio includes a wide range of liquorice specialities and health-oriented sweets. The entire range is today only available in pharmacies. mibe GmbH Arzneimittel is a young pharmaceutical company belonging to the medium-sized Group of companies Dermapharm AG.
Since October 2003, the quality pharmaceuticals for mibe and the entire Group of companies have been manufactured in a modern production plant in Brehna. Hereby, Dermapharm clearly declares its home location as Germany. The formation of this internal pharmaceutical production was made possible through the cooperation with the courageous corporate initiatives and advancement activities of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, which provided future-oriented support with a view to new job opportunities. The result was modern, up-to-date pharmaceutical manufacture, at the highest technical standards, over a space of 37,000 sq m of buildings, with storage space for around 22,000 pallets. Around 300 new jobs in production, laboratories, licensing, marketing, customer service and administration were created at mibe Arzneimittel in Brehna.
